Well, topical one, this.  Watching all the news on Irene got me thinking this was the perfect time to fire up Active Sky and take up my hurricane hunter WB-57A on a pleasure trip to seek out the impending doom (sorry east coast!).  Hey, this is an important job though and provides extra time to evacuate (let's turn back the clock slightly and pretend the satellites are not working at the mo!):

So, leaving from Wilmington, NC, around 19:30 here goes:

cloud front getting heavier:

into the pea soup around 4,500ft:

FS is so...pretty at this time of day and with AS6 running:

Ok, back to work:

Carried on flying and providing useful weather updates until about 20:30:

hard to find Wilmington again even with the flipping GPS:

And back down somewhat safely!

Good luck to those all dealing with the real thing tonight.

Please do not link images from other sites, it slows the forums down for other members.  You can upload your pics here and then copy and paste the links to your thread, just be sure you don't post over 650kb worth of pics per thread.  If you need to split it up into a couple of threads in order to keep it under 650kb then please do.  This just helps keep things running smoother for our members with slower internet connections.   Smiley

Terrific shots and a great story line to go with them.  The VC in that Canberra looks terrific, wish I could find one that good for an FSX model.  Thanks for sharing  Smiley

Hi Big Truck,

my mistake, I had no idea that was against policy.  I will follow your guidelines for future posts.

Ref the VC and FSX, well all my FS9 Canberras will work more or less, barring some gauges and a couple of texture issues, in FSX. I'm planning to make a limited run of Canberras for FSX native at some point this year.

ATB,

Steve
