I have d'loaded 2 beaut A380's from this site however I have no sound on either. The sound config files refer to aliases which normally work OK. Have tried copying sound files from other big jets but still have no sound. I'm a long time flt simmer and have never had this problem before. Tried hitting the Q button several times, tried adjusting my sound card also..... no results. All other a/c are fine.

you say the sounds are aliased. what are they aliased to??
1) Open the aircraft.cfg file. Look for [General Engine Data] "engine type= " 1,2,3,4,5.... what number is it??
2) depending on the "engine type= " look through your SIM OBJECTS / AIRPLANES folder at the Airbus A319, and look at its ENGINE TYPE= if it is the same number, COPY THE SOUND FOLDER (not just the sounds inside) but the whole folder.
3) go to your A380 Aircraft folder, DELETE the sound folder, and PASTE the A319 sound folder to your A380. (yes i know they are the wrong sounds, but if the "Engine type = " numbers are the same, then you will at least have sounds till you do a google search for FSX A380 SOUNDS )
**4) if the ENGINE TYPE = numbers are different, then you need to find an aircraft that has the same ENGINE TYPE to steal the sound file from. -- the ENGINE TYPE MUST MATCH OR THE SOUNDS WILL NOT WORK.

I see no point in guesswork. A site search of the FSX section for "A380" brings up 5 pages of files.
As always, file names with a link to the page(s) the files are posted on would save us all a lot of time & frustration. Then someone can download them to check them out for you.

Hi Jetjockey. Welcome!
In the 'sound' folder
Left click & select - new 'text document'
Paste in:
[fltsim]
alias=b737_800\sound
Save as :
sound.cfg
-- Overwrite if asked.
You have sound.

I think He means the new a380 vc
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

I got the same issues with the Real VC Emirates A380, i've aliased the sounds to the default 747 properly.
I also tried checking the general engine type (which was the same) so i got no idea what's wrong with it.

I've just downloaded the Emirates A380 from here -->
http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=pa380-virtual-cockpit.zip&x=14&...
If you open the Sound folder it has no Sound.cfg. This is the obvious cause of the problem.

That won't work. The FSX default b747_400 sound is itself aliased to the b737_800. If you alias* the A380 sound to the 737 it should fix it.
*The easiest way to do this is to paste a copy of the B747_400 sound.cfg into the Sound folder of the A380.

I doubt it. For aliasing to work the aircraft you
alias to
must have its own sound (or panel) files. That's the reason the sound of most 3rd party large jets is aliased to the default 737 & not the 747.

Ah oh well, i usually just download sound packs for the jets anyway

Just to humour me you could try my suggestion & paste a copy of Sound.cfg from the default b747_400\sound folder into the sound folder of the A380.
I've done it & it works fine.
