I was shocked to learn of this today.  I was planning on attending this airshow tomorrow because Bryan is a friend of my family.  My grandfather taught him how to fly.  He worked at my grandfather's airport to earn money for lessons.  Somewhere there is a picture of him and my grandfather standing in front of the Christan Eagle he learned aerobatics in.  My mother grew up with him and it was hard giving her the news when I got home from the Wichita airshow today.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Not feeling like going back out to another airshow after this weekend.

I was there.  Came to Kansas City to visit some friends and go to the airshow.  Truly sad, I didn't know of him before today but he was putting on a good show until it happened.  RIP

He was supposed to be performing at an airshow next weekend we are going to at ALO.  Coincidentally, this show will be the first for Kyle Franklin since Amanda's death.

Unfortunate, but the real sad thing here is risks like that DO NOT need to be taken.  It's one thing to fly an aerobatic aircraft but to transfer from plane to helicopter without a safety wire or parachute?!  It's stupid...prayers with the family but I'm sorry, that shouldn't have been done in the first place.

Just a very bad weekend for the airshow crowd.  Three accidents, and three deaths.  I only hope next weekend is better, as I am supposed to be attending the Thunder in the Valley in Waterloo, Iowa.

I have to agree, but in this day and age, our attention span has been reduced to 5 minutes and as such, risk inflation has taken over to keep the masses entertained Undecided
