Hi guys, whats going on? I have been thinking of a way to make a little extra cash lately, and I think I have an idea. I can make high quality scenery addons, with custom buildings and photo scenery, corrected airport, ect. , and sell it. I know what your thinking, "that's called payware dummy!". But the catch in that plan is that I could sell it for only one dollar. I can integrate it right into a Blogger.com blog using Google Checkout. I was also thinking about having the option to have a airport personally designed for someone for say, five dollars, or even less. I know it sounds kind of foolish, but if I advertise it on YouTube, here, and other sim websites, I think I may be able to get even a little bit of money. Even if I only got 50 downloads per week off of the entire website, that's still 50 bucks more than I am making now!
(I'm a freshman in high school, ei. young) Thanks ahead of time for your opinions! You don't have to right a novel either, just say good idea or bad idea.

I'm not completely sure. I can see how if they were high qaulity some people might do it, but in some of the economy's around the world these days, it might not be the best idea. And also, some people just won't buy payware. So to be honest I'm not really sure. I guess with that it's a hit or miss thing.
I'd say it's an interesting idea though.

What satellite imagery would you be able to access that you could legally sell?

Bing lets you get a special license that as long as you dont sell a taxable amount (I forget the cap) its fine.

I read somewhere in the FSDevelopers Forum that if you edit the image, which I must do to make the blend mask for the photo scenery, the image becomes unique and yours. i'm not sure of the validity of this statement, but it sounds ok.

Yeah, I have the same opinion myself, its hit or miss. But the plus is, even if I got absolutely zero sales, it wouldn't be a loss because Google checkout and blogger.com are both free services.

i'm not sure that's such a good idea. Depends on how much editing you do I'd guess.

Simply adding a blend map is not even modifying the original image, since the blend mask is not part of the original image. (you use the original to draw the blend mask, but it doesn't involve changing the image) Changing the coloring, removing cars on the street, etc would be making it unique and yours.

OK, that makes more sense, and this technique would avoid legal troubles, or would that still be a matter?

The only thing I will comment on is the advertising. Before you do any advertising here, you would have to get Pete's permission.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Yep
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Very good, when I get everything up and running I will ask for his permission.
