It's been announced today that the Canadian Navy and Air Force are to be "Royal" once more. The title was dropped in 1968...

About time too... Wink

The Liberal Government we just booted out hated the military and the opposition party the NDP or NO Defence Policy Party are not much better.

We now have a Conservative Government who are doing what the people want.

Expanding and updating the military and designing and producing our own equipment is in the forecast.

Wink

I wonder if a recent Royal visit had anything to do with influencing this....
Personally I'm pleased, all those brave Canadians (and some sneaky Americans who got in through the side door with the help of the Cannucks) all served with great courage under the Royal title and this honours those brave men and their sacrifice Cool

Hi Mark... Smiley

The Royal visit might have had a tad bit to do with it but giving the Conservative Government a majority in Parliament was the first step.

The Liberals and the NDP (we call them the No Defence Policy Party) wanted a small Canadian Military just in case Quebec decided to separate and the military would not take sides.
No Province can separate without the consent of all Provinces and the people of Quebec have shown twice and now in the past election they want to stay in Canada.
Each Province is very distinct and that is what makes up Canada.

Just like the London riots, we have a few idiots around here that want to keep stirring up trouble and for years the Liberals only harped on Quebec separating where after awhile even the folks of the Province of Quebec got sick of listening too them.

We are lucky we have a good leader who is taking the country in the right direction, cleaning up the mistakes made by the Liberals and their backers the NDP.... Wink

Here is an excellent video just released...Click on the link to the right about Reactions from Veterans etc...

Listen to the RCAF man at the end when he say's the tail gunner asked the captain to take the aircraft up as water was coming into the tail turret...it was a B24 Liberator probably from Coastal Command... Grin

Settle petal, I might live in Germany, but the roots are firmly on the correct side. Anything north of the Tamar bridge is Scotland  Grin

Also, I bet the French Canadians in Quebec are foaming at the mouth  Grin Grin Grin

HI folks... Smiley

Too put a stop to this nonsense right now:

Folks who live in Quebec or any other Province are Canadians first and what ever second... Smiley

French Canadian from Quebec along with Canucks from all other Provinces served in both World Wars and many many
Uninted Nations Peace Operations and Wars through out the years.

It would be an insult to them to consider them anything but Canadians... Smiley
