Hi

First post here. I have been re-installing the great fs2004 i had on my old computer years ago. I am an ex-fs9tweaker that has been re addicted. The great world SRTM mesh by Steven? forget the last name, anyway I have been downloading it from this site (thank you) but either it is not in the advertised order according to the map or I am doing something wrong. I have downloaded NA1-NA51 installed and have all files in one scenery folder in addon scenery. However only some of the areas where I expect to find the mesh is active and showing. For example, NA-38 (los angeles area) shows up but NA48 (san franscisco) area is the standard fs9 mesh. I should have all of mexico but only some parts are showing.

Could the order be screwed up and I am not installing the locations I think I am?

These are all going to the correct fs9/addon scenery/NA/Scenery folder as is standard but only certain areas are showing up.

Thanks allot and nice forum

Welcome to SimV,

I installed the NA48 mesh (NA48N36W125.bgl) and it is showing. How are you determining that the mesh is 'showing'?

It's not always apparent visually. Flatter areas and rolling hills may show little visual difference.

If I'm not sure, I check for a difference in elevation of a point, usually a hill top, between the default mesh and the addon.  In Frisco I slewed to the radio tower hill, nnw of SFO, and saved the flight.  I found a 200' difference in elevation between default and addon mesh.

I used to have most of the 70m mesh installed and never noticed any discrepancies between the cover3.gif map and the downloads.

Remember that  you have to close and restart the sim when adding scenery files or making changes in the Scenery Library.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

I am positive it is not showing. I slewed down to santa maria area in south central california and you can see the seam line beetween the 2 meshes. All the files are in there together and activated properly. Problems are usually something simple but for the life of me I just don't get it.
