Why does the defaul 747 VC suck so bad? I havent flown it in three years and decided to fly it tonight. None of the overhead works except a couple lights and a de-ice switch. You have to start it by using the 2D panel. I have yet to find a master batt switch, or avionics switch. You would have though MS would have put a little more effort into their aircraft that comes with the game.

Anyone know of any VC that people have redone for the 747?

Try the 744 iFly freeware. On the major FS freeware sites.

There is no such a thing as overkill. Only unworthy targets.

But seriously if you want a 100% real you should invest in the PMDG 747-400. Or if you want freeware then the Ifly 747 for fsx is the best vc. If you can find a way to merge the Free sky project 747 Flight dynamics and exterior with the Ifly vc, Bro. You are set Smiley

Go for the PMDG....I had the exact same Q a while back and went for the PMDG744...it's worth it, trust me! Wink

I also have the iFly744, and haven't used that since I got the PMDG "Queen"....

What if you dont want to turn on hydraulic pumps or electrical systems,or learn how the FMC works just start the engines and go. Agreed the default 747 VC sux and mine crashes FSX on top of it.

I cannot vouch about hydraulics and somesuch, but KNOW that the iFly 744 HAS and REQUIRES the use of the FMC for flight. Huh

If a simple 747 (as in, similar in complexity to the default) is required, search on the various freeware download sites... even if... your posts are just a mite schizophrenic, forgive me... first you lament not all the switches work, and now you lament that there are too many switches working... make up your mind, man. Tongue
