One pin from perfection! I'm both happy and incredibly angry. It's a weird emotion

I bowled a 247 six years ago, and since then I had been trying to break 250. I bowled a 247 about 8 times before beating it, a 248 about 4 months ago. Then 3 weeks ago I finally broke the wall with a 278, 2 weeks ago I bowled a 269, and today I bowled the 299. Seems like breaking that wall made a huge difference

Pretty nice.
A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

Whats a 299?
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Far out! Congrats. Well, almost perfect ain't bad.
11th grade, phys ed, they would take us bowling once a week, pretty cool. I guess I was about a 120 or so, despite being in the middle of 4 years of weight lifting and could press & curl 100 pounds 10 times, I was still skinny and didn't have strong bowling arms. They didn't really teach us how to bowl either, that would have helped. But it's relaxing.

You bowlers might appreciate this short film, made by my ex-girlfriend back in '81 at the local bowling alley. Watch for the guy with the "bowling excuses" T-shirt...
The other guy shown racking up the high score on Centipede is her brother, who worked there and also contemplated going pro (bowler) at one time. During that period, he bowled so much that one arm was Popeye-like. He used to sit at home in front of the TV, practicing releasing the ball for hours.

Bowling has 10 frames. If you knock down all 10 pins on the first throw of a frame, you get a strike. If not, you get a chance to pick up the remaining pins. A perfect game is where you hit a strike every time for a total of 12 strikes (the 10th frame has 3 shots: the first shot, which if a strike earns you two because a strike is worth 10 pins plus the next two balls). I had 11 strikes in a row, and on the last shot of the game I left one pin standing, which totals 299. A perfect game is 300

I throw a 15 pound ball, which I've been doing since I was 16. My first ball was 10 pounds when I was 10, went up to 12 by 13 and 14 when I was 14 or 15. I have a 16 pound ball, and I can throw it all right but it does get tiring and then the ballspeed drops which isn't good. Honestly strength has little to do with it, the ball does most of the work, but after 6 games you definitely can feel it.
I had so much adrenaline going in that game though that for the last 4 shots I literally did not feel my arm at all
