Well July turned out to be a hell of a month in our house. So I'm glad my besty (Patty) seems to be surviving breast cancer. My hat is off to the special surgeons and staff! Now while she was at home recovering my face started swelling up. I had three infected teeth and the swelling surrounded one of my eye sockets. So I am really happy just to be alive and wanted to say it!
Flying with twins is a lot of fun..

Good to know you're still in the land of the living Steve
Glad to hear that things seem to be on the up.
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Thanks Ozzy! Things are improving. I mean this post to be a positive thing. Just when we think we are down, we can "rise from the ashes"

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Glad to hear it Steve.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Speaking of being glad to be alive, has anyone other than me been in a car that had the front end completely taken off by a van only to be slammed into by a full sized school bus about three seconds later?

We call that "commuting" in California.

Hmm, checking my files.. wait.. nope! I was T boned by an 18 wheeler that knocked my engine 300 yards from the scene. In 1970 the transport (Semi) cut my 68 Chrysler New Yorker in half!
I hope you weren't hurt because those chain reaction accidents can be deadly. If your on a busy highway, sometimes the best thing you can do is stay in your car and leave your seatbelts fastened.
Flying with twins is a lot of fun..

No one in the vehicle I was in was hurt. Not even our puppy. (Dad had to tie her to a stopsign to keep her from licking the radiator fluid leaking from our engine.) The only people who got hurt was the driver of the van and the one kid in the school bus.
No fatalities though. It ended up being the school bus driver's fault.

This was one of those separated highways where the lanes on one side go one way and the lanes on the other go the other way.
1: We are stopped at a stop sign waiting to cross the highway. The school bus is stopped in the mid section waiting for the chance to cross to where we are. The van is driving like normal in the left most lane of the highway.
2: School bus pulls out in front of the van.
3:Van honks horn
4:Van tries to stop but collides with the front of the school bus full speed despite the driver's efforts to stop.
5:The impact causes the van to swerve right into our car, taking off the entire front end of our car and knocking pieces of metal into the highway.
6: Van ends up flying off the road into a ditch on the right of the highway coming to rest at a Tilted 45* angle. Tilt, not rotation.
7: School bus keeps going and hits our front-left end which transforms into a harsh sideswipe and then comes to a stop next to us.

And to think our car had just been given a nice new coat of paint. We had been planning on keeping that thing running for many years to come.
Those Honda's will last forever I tell ya.
