I have downloaded many files previously from the site, and I love the service, but now when I am trying to download files I am getting the following errors for any file that I try to download (so far only from the FSX Military page)

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at simviation.com:8888.

the url is showing up as http://simviation.com:8888/download?file=RQ-4A-1.zip&sessionId=b6ba803e67db4f676...

Hello,

Situations like this are always temporary.

Just tried and the links works ok.

Let me know if you have further problems.

Thank you.

Pete

Just tryed again with firefox, still no luck, same error message.

Same with IE.

Update: Right now the main site is crawling slow, maybe i'm timing out before I can make a connection to the download servers, but I can't see where in Firefox I can increase the time out limit.

This is my trace route:

Tracing route to www.simviation.com [205.252.250.27]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1  General failure.

Trace complete.

Same message from running a ping, General failure. No change with Firewall (Zone Alarm) Turned off.

Hi

The server has not been down and therefore a ping will always work.

Can you provide a tracert?

Hi

This is not a tracert

Can you please do the following

Go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt

Type 'tracert www.simviation.com'

Right click the black window box and 'select all'

This will copy the results to your clipboard. You can then paste in the results.

Should look somthing like this

1         0        0        0           206.123.64.154        -
2         0        0        0           64.124.196.225       xe-4-2-0.er2.dfw2.us.above.net
3         0        0        0           63.218.23.29       ge5-4.br02.dal01.pccwbtn.net
4         33        33        34           205.252.250.27       simviation.com

Thank you

to prove that I am doing it right and that is all I am getting here is the full prompt

C:\Users\Stephen>tracert www.simviation.com

Tracing route to www.simviation.com [205.252.250.27
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1  General failure.

Trace complete.

C:\Users\Stephen>

Edit: I just did a small test on my local system, as I realised that getting the General Error must have been due to my end, PeerBlock is blocking your IP. I down, and the download worked, so did the treacert, I will now attempt to look in to my block lists and take your IP out.

Sorry for the hastle, I thought I had tryed everything on my end before posting, but it looks like that had slipped.

Hi,

Well it's good to hear this and thanks also for the feedback.

It is far better that problems are aired in the open as this helps with feedback and maybe others with a similar problem will read this.

It also helps me to deal with future similar problems
