I won't buy it if:
*You can't get free addons from the community developers like you always could
*M$ has control on add-ons
*It is more a game than a simulator even with sliders maxed.
I WILL buy it if:
*You can download free addons regularly on sites like this and other community Flight sites
*It can behave like a real aircraft
*It can have realistic Google Earth style scenery so that my flights can replicate real flights
*I don't have to keep spending money to get more addons.
The enthusiasts for home flight simulation are out there. I am not sure MS Flight will meet their needs. I would not be hopeful about a small addon company like aerosoft having the resources (which is $millions) to develop a good alternative.
There is still some hope that other sims from $billion companies may rise to meet our needs. - Or the community can develop ourselves 'Flightgear' - which can be as good as FSX if it was developed.
Well. I guess you ain't buying it.
Quote:What I meant to say, but my command over English language evidently slipped, is that Flightgear is KEPT IN CONTEMPT, as in: is scorned and disdained... because IT'S FREE.
If if it was paid for, more people would surely appreciate it more. Sad but as true as human stupidity.
Yeah. and if it goes payware people will start going mad and running around screaming saying that we have lost a quality game e.t.c. Ironic
And as far as graphics go, from the trailer all that has changed is:
That blue haze of fsx has now been replaced by a realistic mist...
The trees now look more realistic.
There are a few more buildings.
And a few others.
I'm sure if one of us starts messing with fsx graphics we can create trees and the mist. My annoying thing is that in fsx there is fog but when you climb to about normal airliner cruise altitude, It's gone. We need to find it
I think the problem is that Bill Gates was a marketer and a geek and Steve Ballmer is a geek. Billl gates knew what the market and brought in what he thought the market wanted. And it worked out pretty well for them. Steve Jobs has his way of doing it and it works out great for them.
Steve Ballmer is a geek and he brings in what is good for technology and not the customers. And Now they are trying to do an apple?
They will be dropped by some customers like hot coal. Do not try to beat people in their own game, Or should i say simulator
