I've recently discovered sceneries made by Real Earth X. A certain Franck Dainese is part of the 3-man staff, proof that this is a quality outfit. Real Earth X is now under FSaddon's distributing. Anyway yesterday I picked up their Cervino (Matterhorn) scenery, as well as Tre Cime. I've never seen such mountains in FSX, they are simply stunning, the best out there hands down!
Anyway here are a few shots of the Matterhorn, flown with a Swiss Mirage 3 (when in Rome...  Wink ). Enjoy!

Great shots Pierre. Smiley

I've had some of Frank's freeware stuff for quite a while. I just wish it covered a larger area and was combined with more autogen. But from altitude, it can't be beat for beauty.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

The first shot is as close to reality as I have ever seen in a pic, well done Pierre. All of the shots have magnificent detail. The only thing that I don't like about photoscenery is that most of it looks bad when you get under 500' or so and the autogen problem as Larry said. But I don't think you would be landing anywhere on these mountains and I am sure there would be very little auto to generate. Grin

Very nice pics.

+1.........wow Shocked

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Thank you so much for the kind comments! I really cannot take any credits though, what makes these screens is definitely the mountain! Thank you Mr. Dainese, I am forever grateful. If you love moutains as much as I do, their payware stuff is top-notch! I will agree in saying that Franck Dainese's freeware stuff is great from an altitude but looks quite blurry close to the ground. It is a universal problem for photoreal sceneries... HOWEVER this mountain is not photoreal, it is not a picture "glued on" to an updated mesh, it is a 3D object like any other aircraft with beautifully worked textures. The whole process I do not fully understand, I am not an add-on developer, but it definitely works for me. There are no blurries, and it doesn't matter whether you fly at 15,000ft or flying at the base of the mountain, it looks awesome from every angle!
