T'was a bit disappointing. Granted, it is a tough course, but with the exception of a few exceptional shots, not the best golf I've seen lately. One bright spot was Canada's own Adam Hadley tying third.
Winner Sean O'Hare US
2
nd
Kris Blanks US
Blew it on the first hole of the playoff by missing his par putt.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Disappointing? I thought it was a great shootout on a tough course. How many times did the lead change on Sunday?
Did you even watch the playoff?
Both players hit tee shots into the 5" rough. O'Hair plays it safe and lays up, Blanks goes for it and ends up in the greenside bunker. Blanks should have been able to salvage a tie but hit it 20' past the hole into the fringe.
O'Hair wins with a bogey as Blanks cards a double.
A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

Yes, I watched the playoff. I wasn't saying it was disappointing, just most of the match. I would have to place part of the blame on the announcers and CBS though.
They showed images of various uninteresting things for longer than they would leave the leader board up. I just felt the play and coverage were below par, no pun intended.
I was glad to see John Daly finish in the top ten. And Patrick Cantlay is certainly doing very well.

Woah take it down a notch it was just an opinion.
I agree with you Larry, although I never find the Canadian Open interesting.

I apologize if I was a bit over the top but this was the toughest course I've seen all year.
It's long, the fairways are narrow and the rough is brutal - that's why you didn't see the best golf you've ever seen, if you equate that with low scores.
CBS produced its typical 5 minute "fluff" pieces but everyone does. I don't like them either but it's not as bad as "sponsored" tournaments where you get get to watch Arnold Palmer (Bay Hill) or Jack Nicklaus (Memorial) "invited" to the booth to blather mindlessly for a half hour on Saturday and Sunday as if they are doing us a favor.
In summary:
Tough course, constant lead changes, playoff = interesting.
22 year old leads every round, wins major by 10 shots = great to see once every year or two.
A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

No problem. And you are correct. It is a very tough course. I guess I should have been more specific. What was disappointing was the number of short putts missed. But there were several really good chip or bunker shots.
And I guess I am a bit spoiled when it comes to announcers. I prefer David Feherty and Gary McCord. You get a lot more chuckles when they are together.

It sure was. And the weather was perfect Sunday.
