The Space Shuttle program has captured the hearts and minds of people all across the Globe. From its beginnings in the 80’s the craft has made a great many accomplishments possible such as repairing the Hubble Telescope, building the international Space Station and to be a reusable spacecraft a first in human history. It has also brought unity between both the American and Russian space Programs through Shuttle-Mir missions. It now soars into the history books with its mission accomplished and paving the way for future astronauts and Spacecraft.

...

This my way of paying tribute to the shuttle program that I have witness launching from Orlando for the last 11 years  Smiley

Very cool and unique shot, especially considering the recent last launch and recovery marking the end of the Shuttle Program Cry Cry

Out of curiosity....where did you find the space station model?

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Great shot and great tribute!  Smiley
I only saw the shuttle go up once in person, and it was at night a good distance away, but it was cool and I'm glad I got to see it myself at all.
Now that it's over, I can't wait 'till Discovery is in the NASM; I'm hoping to see it as soon as they put it on display!

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
