ok guys, here is a stumper.  all I really need help on is trying to figure out IF i actually have a memory leak in FSX. I will try to figure out where and what is causing it if I (we) feel that there actually is a Leak.

I start GameBooster v2.  Start FSX.  Select craft, set airport, weather, time... FLY NOW.

Everything runs just fine the way that it should.  After I am in the cockpit, i minimize and try to start Plan-G.  Wait 20 min, still not loaded.  Open Task Manager - shut down Plan-G.  that is when I notice FSX.EXE is at 1,200,000+ K on memory.  WTF!!!!!!!!! it use to only run in the 800,000 - 900,000.  never at the 1.2 Million K !!!!!

Task Manager shows 48 processes, ~40-60% memory, ~55-70% CPU

My specs are below.

You have a lot of addons and you are switching between full and windowed mode.  I don't know if you have the Himem fix in your .cfg file, but you are running a laptop with what looks like pretty minimal specs to be running FSX, much less an FSX embellished with things like OrbX.  As far as it used to use 800 mb, and now it is using 1.2 gigabytes,   I've found it typical to use all the way up to close to 4 gigabytes.

The HIMEM fix is NOT the 3G fix...and since you have a 64 bit operatiing system, you don't want the 3G tweak applied anyway (maybe that is part of the problem ?)

I don't know why you are getting all bent over your hard drive space or whether or not you have it in C: Program files...I didn't even mention any of those things.

As far as your machine being up to the task...2.2 ghz and 256 mb video card?   If it works for you, than that is what counts I guess.  But I think the lower your specs are, the more chance you are going to run into a situation where things get overloaded...so it is something you might consider.  I don't know what kind of airplanes you are running, or what your image quality settings are, but I would imagine that you will run out of system overhead pretty quickly.

Yeah that would be nice to have, but do you really think that everyone in America can afford that computer??????

FSX is the Gordon Gekko of entertainment software, and it can never have enough CPU and Video horsepower.

The HighMemFix he's referring to in your FSX.cfg file is:

[Graphics]
HIGHMEMFIX=1

You need to add that line as shown.
If it doesn't help, remove it.
