The Lockheed Vega!!! Made sorta famous by a couple of aviators you may have heard of, Wiley Post and Amelia Earhart.
This one is Mr. Post's "Winnie Mae", which currently rests comfortably at the National Air and Space Museum building in Washington, D.C.
The Vega, built by Lockheed, was designed by a couple of names you may also recognize, John Northrop and Gerrard Vultee. I suppose eventually those two grew tired of Lockheed and took off on their own paths into aviation history.
I like to think that this shot depicts one of Wiley Post's around the world flights. Or perhaps one of his other record setting/breaking flights.
Thanx for lookin' and good luck to all!
Original aircraft is here:

Great shot U4EA........the colors are perfect
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

This is a really nice shot! I like this! Nice Job!
I've been banned for being an ill mannered imbecile with all the charm of a cocaine snorting Rottweiler.
I have difficulty seeing due to the massive floppy pink appendage growing out of my forehead and flopping in front of my eyes!

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
