Hi

I am recently more interested in flying and enjoying the scenery from simple piston aircraft. What sceneries / locations / aircraft make this sort of flying more interesting for you?

This would be a great question for our old-time member who has a picture of the motorcycle in his signature.. I forget his name  Undecided But...he.. always writes ... like Smiley .. this ! Cheesy
Have fun!

I love flying around my home airport of PAJN.  Great terrain, airports spaced every 60-100 miles so the hops aren't too long.

anywhere up in British Columbia, Canada.  Especially with Misty and Tongass Fjords.

(i have been sucked over to the darkside of FSX, so there are so many more options that are out there)

You could try to get Ultimate Terrain, and Ground Environment Pro, together they make any landscape 1000 times better than default.

Get the two part Glacier Bay Alaska enhancement by Holger Sandmann and friends.

Payware quality that is free and spectacular - especially for "low and slow" fliers.

You won't be dissapointed.

The mountains of Japan make for a nice VFR flight, with the occasional glimpsed volcano. The islands of the Caribbean too, but only with the right add-on scenery. The Andes or the Himalaya when I want something challenging. The Alps too are nice, especially the neighborhood of the European Lukla (Courchevel), though I rarely go there... too close to home = not so much fun, for me. Cheesy

Obviously you need the right scenery, sadly sometimes only payware. Wink

There is an excellent payware VFR England (27gig on DVD) that is amazing.  Plus numerous individual add-ons of cathedrals, water towers, bridges, etc.

Hi Guys Smiley
I have a realy kool place you can go, I found it one day when I flew out of Dallas Ft. Worth. It's a place called "MILLWOOD LAKE" In southwest Arkansas Smiley BUT!...You better have a Chopper or a Nimble and/or  Powerfull airplane.  Because Once you get down in that canyon.....Its HARD to get back out Wink  If I remember..It's around 35 to 3,800 Ft. deep. Or more.  I went in with a low power single prop. I was doing ok coming out in steps....BUT I was using a keyboard..I lost it and hit the Wall.  Have Fun Trying To Get Out!!          Blaze

FYI - That is but one of the gross terrain "errors" which shipped with FS2004.

It is easily corrected using the file named six_default_fixes.zip by Joshua Robertson.

If it is not in the library here, it is available at other sites.

The file automatically corrects six of the worst "errors" in FS2004.
