Hi All.
Does anybody know why the military autopilot in the Phoenix Avro Vulcan does not work correctly in FSX? I fly it in FS9 without problems but shortly after engaging it in FSX the elevators go on maximum deflection and the plane goes out of control.
I know the model was originaly designed for FS2002/2004 but I assumed it should work ok in FSX as there is at least one texture for it in the FSX downloads. There is also a new panel designed for FSX but it uses a more modern autopilot but I prefer to fly with the original military unit.
Any help appreciated.

Zaphod I suspect the AP doesn't work the same way in FS9 as FSX. Are there any equivilant AP's on say the older jetliners for FSX you could maybe use and move onto your Vulcan?

Ozzy.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I think I may have jumped the gun a bit as the Vulcan in question was originally purchased by me many moons ago for FS9 and I have copied it into FSX. Although it's by Phoenix I'm not sure it's the same one as featured in the SimV downloads.
I'll investigate further.
Thanks again.

There are some skins for the PSS one doing the rounds, there is also a K. Ito one and there was another one updated from FS2k2 to FS9, can't remember by whom.
The PSS one you should be able to move an AP from an old jetliner and that'll be almost identical

Thanks again Ozzy.
It looks as though the panel I have with the original payware version is totally different from the one featured in the downloads section. The A/P is of the military type giving you the option of Alt Hold or Speed Hold. The only other aircraft in my collection that has something similar is the Just Flight C130, also payware.
Never mind, I can still enjoy it in FS9. It's quite a challenge as you can imagine.
Best.

I've got a LOT of hours on the PSS Vulcan in FS9
There was a good panel knocking around for FS9 for the Vulcan, I'll see if I can dig it up for you

Thanks again Ozzy, but the panel you recomended isn't a patch on the one in the original payware version. My only problem is it doesn't work in FSX.
Hey ho.
Zaphod.
PS.
I'm sure if you like the Vulcan you would have come across the excellent book, "Vulcan 607". If not I can highly recommend it.

I have indeed read Vulcan 607, I have a number of Vulcan books (but not as many as I have on the Spitfire/Seafire)

Bit of further info.
Just flight sell an upgrade for the PSS Vulcan for £5.10 to allow it to work in FSX but, and I qoute; "Autopilot is only available in FS2002, FS2004 and FSX (but not FSX with Acceleration and/or Service Pack 2 installed."
As my FSX is the Gold version which includes Acceleration I guess that means I'm up the creek without an Auto Pilot!
I have found out that Iris have developed a Vulcan for FSX so I might give that a try, or just stick to flying my existing PSS Vulcan in FS9.
Onwards and upwards.
