Hey!
Is that normal?.... I can't make it to setup a 'cold' start with the default Learjet45 in FS9, even most of the addon Learjets that I found have similar problems.
When I set battery on, and when I try to start the engines, each of them stops after a few seconds and refuses to work.
When I start using Ctrl-E the engines start, yes, but I cannot keep the aircraft standing stil, it slowly advances, so I cannot realize a normal start according to prescriptions.
So I was looking for another Learjet45, but most of the addons have similar problems....
Is that normal?
Where can I find a good working Learjet45?

Hey!
Meanwhile I found another panel for the default Learjet45, and also I found out how to start the engines from cold and dark.....So far so good!
But now, when the engines are turning at lowest capacity, the aircraft keeps on rolling forward at a speed of 0.3 KIAS, and I cannot keep it stiil with brakes on, and above that, I cannot, with keybord nor with joystick, make the engines move to more power, the maximum speed that I can achieve is only 20 KIAS, like for taxiing...
How can I now move to the runway and take off when I cannot give more power?
Strange aircraft is the Learjet,... Or is it my system that makes it strange?
Can somebody explain me what I should do to solve these problems?

Cannot really help you with much, as the Lear never was one of my favorite planes, beside maybe for the problem of its engines being too "pushy". Smiley

Enter into the folder containing the Lear (unless you changed it, should be FS9/Aircraft/Lear45/) and open for edit its Aircraft.CFG.

Locate the [generalenginedata] section.

Locate the command min_throttle_limit=, folowed usually by a decimal number less than 1, and make its number even smaller.

Should, in the [generalenginedata] section, the command min_throttle_limit= not exist, you may entertain two course of action... well, three:

1) Find an add-on Lear. The default planes barely deserve any attention when used as AI planes. VERY SUGGESTED. Wink

2) Try and use negative numbers in the min_throttle_limit= command. WARNING: never tried it myself because I never had to (it may work or it may not). If you do try this road, start using SMALL negative numbers, like -0.01 and try from there. Tongue

3) Learn how to edit the .AIR files and make a modification yourself... NOT REALLY SUGGESTED, as finding a valid add-on Lear is surely easier, like... THIS (barely 2 minutes of search to find it). Wink

There is no such a thing as overkill. Only unworthy targets.

Not particularly a fan of the lear myself but on the odd occasion when i have started it from cold I just feed the power in and out or set the throttle to max and it seem to kick in ??
