Had our first Typhoon of the season.  Thankfully only the house suffered....

...
Good old government housing on Okinawa.  All those pieces - yeah...that's my roof.

...
I'm not going to ask what made the marks in the grass like that - I just don't even want to know.

...
The lil man checking out the roof. "Daddy! The house has no hair!"

...
Other than the roof, just alot of tree's and branches knocked down.

...
Roof came off in large chunks - some 15' x 30'.  The old base housing out here is roofed with 3" layers of insultating foam, with the tar tile sheets laid over on top of it.

...
What remains of our roof.  They finally came out late Sunday to put a single tarp down.  Yeah - it only covers about 60% of my roof, none of the neighboors. Oh and it's raining all this week.....

Looks like you need some Seabees! Wink

All kidding aside, I'm glad you made it out relatively unscathed.

I'd love to get some seebees. At least they get the job done, and get it done quickly.  All base housing on the island is ran by the Air Force which contracts most of the work out to local nationals (per the SOFA agrement between the US and Japan, 80% of all jobs must goto local nationals).  I've been on them since Sunday to at least get tarps up on my roof - I've got one, that covers about 60% of MY side of the roof, none of the neighbors.  It's supposed to rain all week, and I've already got water leaking down through some of the upper vents.

Glad everyone is ok... Smiley

It is like that here also...it seems the military is a make work project for the civilians who take twenty times longer and charge one hundred percent more... Shocked      Roll Eyes

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
