Took a while, but we finally got the wings (and struts) re-painted. This time, the club jobbed it out to a pro... a very nice job, and as part of the deal, we got the painter's 13-yr-old son, Cameron, as a new member. Gus gave him his first lesson Saturday, after the first test flights, and based on his performance, he's sure to be ready to solo by his 14th birthday. The club even splurged on a new cover... Andy's home-made one had done well for two winters, but it was time to replace it.

Here's ol' "Granmaw", looking much younger... with one of her oldest friends, and her newest.
It's hard to believe it's the same glider I started out in a couple of years ago. All she needs now is a good wash'n'wax, although it's hard to tell how dirty the fuselage is in this photo.

Cool She looks great Sean. I sure hope you didn't go flying with the way the grass looks, it'd be a shame to fudge up that nice paint job with a nice green streak of grass on the wingtip. Grin

Can't wait to get back up there sometime this summer. Hopefully...  Roll Eyes

Very nice looking glider. I especially love the shark mouth nose art. How many calls are the local police going to get over a flying shark I wonder....

with that storm in the background, looks like you had plenty of updrafts to float on for a while. (just watch out for the Giant sparks of light)

It does look good Sean. Smiley

But I can't help noticing, the way you are standing and looking reminds me of someone on a boat that has just landed a shark. Roll Eyes  Grin

LOL- but that's not me, it's our "chief flight instructor", Herb aka Gus!  Grin the youngster is our newest member, Cameron. He'd just returned from his first lesson with Herb.

Well, I wasn't sure. It's been quite a while since I've seen a pic of you and my memory....is a memory.  Grin

Good to see youngsters start early. Smiley
