Good afternoon all... Smiley

Happy May 24th Holiday Canada and also called Firecracker Day in Ontario.

This is one holiday celebrated long before Confederation in Canada and enjoyed through out all the provinces.

Here is a Link which is an excellent read...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Day

Tonight we shall enjoy a great feast at the Royal Canadian Legion and tomorrow and Monday there will be day long activities at one of our bugsmasher fields.
Think I will be chopping onions for the food on the BBQs.

Spot Landings, flour bombing, flying poker run, fly in breakfast and BBQ.

We always have a great time and so do the kids... Wink

During the evening there is a Pass in Review from one of the local boat clubs on the bay and those boats are very well decorated with lights.  It starts sometime around 21:30 hrs or when it gets dark.  Lots of fun... Wink

Now today there is lots going on in the community.  Including a dog show and some folks doing stuff on Seadoos but we have been both around here as the old girl is baking up a storm and I am the official "Go Getter" and "Bottle Washer" for her... Roll Eyes

Pies and Cakes...but I do get to lick the spoon and clean the bowls... Grin

Have a great holiday all... Wink

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Allthough rain was predicted, we have actually had two very nice days. If we can get more sunlight I'm hoping the sweetcorn crops will have a good season. I love that stuff. mmm.  16 is probably the most common number of rows in an ear of sweet corn, 14 and 18 are also seen depending on the season. Sweet  corn ears always have an even number of rows, because the rows always occur in pairs. Some say that there is an average of 42 kernels in a row in mature corn cobs.

Happy Victoria Day, Doug.. Cool
