Desktop icons problem (Read 608 times)

Dear friends,

My O.S is Windows Xp Home edition. In an attempt to create programme icons as Quick Launch icons I inadvertantly Right Clicked on the Programmes' directory itself misreading the relevant instructions in the Help and Support section of the windows. To my dismay all the original icons of all the installed individual programmes inclusive of all the games in the Desk top were replaced only by link icons.
I do not know how to bring back the respective original icons to the desktop.
Can some one of you help me in this matter, please? My knowledge in computer operations is very very little. Embarrassed

My problem still remains unsolved and I am still looking for a solution.Can you do something over it ? Thanks for your concerns, dear friend.
