Hey all.
A few years ago I used to be a strong member here under a different name, I used to love FS too, especially around exam time! Nothing like some good old procrastination!
Anyway, I used to run FS2004 on my old system which crashed and burned in serious style a while ago. I think an issue with the motherboard occured and then my hard drive became corrupted. At a hefty cost I managed to get the stuff off it but since then I have been laptop based so lost touch with FS
My dad dropped a fairly dated desktop with me a while ago, he has just updated the computers at his office so it was going free. So i was wondering if someone could let me know what the possibility of getting a somewhat decent looking FSX on it would be.
Windows XP
Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 2.93GHz
2.94GHz, 480MB RAM (this would be replaced with 2 or 4GB instantly! so pretend that says 2gb)
Video card (if you can call it that... I doubt you could)
SiS M741
On my old system I had a high average video card and 2gb Ram, I ran FS2004 on pretty much maxed out settings, yeah I had some small FPS numbers around dense scenery but i didnt mind that at all.
cheers folks

So I decide to have a look at the desktop we currently use at home... This seems A LOT more promising...
Motherboard - Packard Bell FIH57
CPU - Intel Core i3 CPU 530 @ 3GHz
RAM - 3GB
Graphics Card - Intel HD Graphics, 733MHz, 32MB
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium
Graphics card replacement maybe all I need?

That's exactly what I would suggest. Everything else should be fine for FSX.
i5 3570K @ 4.3GHz, ASRock Z77 Pro3, EVGA GTX 670 FTW, 8GB DDR3, 128GB Samsung 830, 500GB Seagate Barracuda, Thermaltake Armor A60, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech K800, Logitech M510, Windows 8 Pro x64, FSX Acceleration
