Great shots of a wonderful old bird Mitch. Smiley

My Dad flew the Hump (as a passenger) in a C-47 during WWII. They had to turn back because of mechanical problems, but after the repairs went ahead.

FSX, we've come a long way baby! Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martins Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-22 Raptor. Its largest current project is the F-35 Lightning II

Wow......great stuff Shocked Shocked
#2 is extraordinary Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Shocked That's going in my airplanes folder tomorrow!
Great shots! The C-47 and DC-3 were and still are some of history's finest aircraft; the workhorses of the golden age of aviation.

Mitch, where did you get the livery in shot #1? It is not in the pack and a search yielded nothing. Undecided
