I think the world can be pretty sure that Bin Laden is now dead.
He also was not killed years ago because the Bush government would simply not have handed that bombshell to the Democrats.
Imagine the publicity stunt of him now releasing a new video with proof of date.
It ain't going to happen. Period. If he was still alive that is what he would do - with glee.
He's dead. He was killed a few days ago. The absolute facts will probably emerge in time.
The extremist terrorist chapter is not over. Never will be. Part of the human being story.
But at least we can close the chapter on 'Bin Laden still at large'
Right on Pete!, and one thing we don't have to suffer thru is a trial. I can see it now, every bleeding heart lawyer who wants fame would have been scrambling to his defense!
Here's to the SEALS for getting the job

The sad truth is that the terrorists won years ago.
The Cost of Getting Bin Laden - Lost lives, lost dollars, and lost liberty
Quote:
Given the thousands of American lives that have been lost and the mountain of borrowed money that has been spent financing our country’s so-called war on terror, a simple question needs to be asked: Was it all worth it? ...
First, a total of 4,452 American soldiers have been killed in action in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion began in 2003. Meanwhile, a total of 1,566 U.S. troops have been killed in action in Afghanistan—most of them within the last three years as the conflict has escalated.
At last count, the direct taxpayer cost of both wars had eclipsed $1.1 trillion. With 47,000 American soldiers still stationed in Iraq and more than 100,000 fighting in Afghanistan, that tab is only going to increase. Also, because we are paying for these wars with borrowed money, financing costs will push the totals even higher ...
America’s domestic surveillance program—with its warrantless searches, electronic eavesdropping, and indefinite “emergency” detentions—is every bit as much of a “clear and present danger” to this country as the terrorists it seeks to capture. By authorizing these measures, the government has trampled the First, Fourth, Fifth Sixth, Eighth, and 14th Amendments—all in the name of safeguarding our nation from itself ...
Judge Andrew Napolitano: Osama bin Laden Was Illegally Murdered
Quote:
Fox Business Network host Andrew Napolitano made some news yesterday when he openly questioned if the U.S. government is “telling us the truth” over the killing of Osama bin Laden, specifically wondering if the White House was “pulling a fast one to save Obama’s lousy Presidency. Now Napolitano appears to be covering all of his bases with Obama detractors telling Fox Radio host Tom Sullivan that the U.S. Military’s killing of bin Laden was an illegal murder.
Was the Osama bin Laden Assassination Illegal?
Quote:
Fox News' Shepard Smith is openly questioning, or at least asking if anyone else is openly questioning, the legality of the whole operation. He didn't elaborate on why exactly it might violate any law or treaty, while discussing the issue with fellow Fox correspondent Catherine Herridge.
"Is anyone talking about the fact that this is illegal, this operation was illegal, or is that a matter that's going to be left for another day?"

Believe me buddy, if I were to post my ture feeling for this, the thread would be locked and I'd probably end up being banded.
I dare not try to say anymore for the sake of my membership.....

Al Qaedas sabre rattlings and admission of OBLs fate recently, should satisfy the undecided masses more than a picture ever could.

The truth of the matter is OBL is dead, Al Qaeda have admitted this. Will it change things? No, in a nutshell. He was something of a figurehead just like a President or a Prime Minister is a figurehead for their country. His death won't prevent further terrorist acts, if things like this did then the Provos and the Red Army Faction would have gone out of business decades before they did.
Alas there will always be people who are displeased by something and willing to take things to an extreme to express themselves... even at the expense of others.
Just because he is dead doesn't mean evil has been extinguished from the world. Alas
I come from a service family and my family have attended pretty much every conflict for the last 400 years. Believe me when I say that no matter what sacrifices good men make to make the world better there will always be evil. Without it how can we gauge our progress as the good?

Well said Mark. In my first reply in this thread, that was what I meant.. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

Zing!
From Jay Leno:
* The good news: Osama bin Laden is dead. The bad news: there is no bad news.
* Osama bin Laden was apparently shot twice in the face. It looks like Dick Cheney may have been involved.
From David Letterman:
* Did everyone enjoy the Osama bin Laden season finale?
* There’s already been some trouble for Osama bin Laden in the afterlife. There was a mix up and he was greeted by 72 vegans.
From Craig Ferguson:
* Politicians on both sides are equally happy. Dick Cheney said he hasn’t been this happy since he saw the YouTube video of the girl throwing puppies into the river.
* Apparently, members of al-Qaida are online slamming the U.S. I don’t understand why they’re so upset. Everyone in al-Qaida just got a promotion.
From Jimmy Kimmel:
* I would like us to kill bin Laden every Sunday night. It makes for a much brighter start to the week.
* After all the talk about caves, bin Laden was hiding in a million-dollar mansion in Pakistan. The CIA became suspicious when they learned there was a million-dollar mansion in Pakistan.
* I just want to point out that “buried at sea” means “dumped in the ocean.” This could be the best Shark Week ever.
From Jimmy Fallon:
* Oddly enough, bin Laden’s last words were, “I hope you at least use this to interrupt ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’”
* Microsoft is bringing back “Clippy,” the cartoon paper clip that used to pop up in Word documents. Apparently he’s been hiding in an upscale suburb of Pakistan.

Here in Britain there has been a massive dropping off of suicide bombings thanks to reality TV.
Once Muslims around the UK discovered what a virgin looked like Paradise seemed so much less exciting... here is what you get!
