Using FS Earth Tiles, I've begun playing around with making my own photo-real scenery for FS9. Once properly configured, it's a great, simple program to use. The scenery turns out great. Here's the problem. Any of you that have installed any of Gottfreid Razek's "Blue Sky" scenery, immediately know the difference between low-res and hi-res photo-real. Well, as it turns out, FS Earth Tiles is perfect for making low-res scenery, but I'm after the hi-res stuff. How do I do it?

Use SBuilder, learn how to use it to make regular photoscenery, then make ?VTP? scenery. It basicaly just lays a polygon mapped with your textures over the terrain.

Generally, it dosen't work too well.   Sad

But I have had some sucess with it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I actually meant to delete this thread yesterday upon leaning about the gmax layering thing over the weekend. Gmax and I don't really get along. Grin However, since I decided to start out with just one of my local airports, I'm finding that the low-res photoreal actually blends with the default pretty well. If I were going to cover a really big area, I might learn how to do it, but low-res is good enough for now. I'd love to post it as a freeware add on when I'm done, but there would be so many permissions to acquire that I doubt it would be possible. I have to say though, with Fs Earth tiles, ADE9X, SAMM (the tool for making static ac from flight models in your hanger by Don Grovestine), a whole host of library objects, and the Autogen annotator from the FS9 SDK, even I can make great looking scenery! I'll post a few shots as I get closer to being finished.
Thanks again!
