So today I was involved in a crash, I've been driving for just under a year so I think i've done quite well so far.

I was driving down the A12 in essex on my way to college & went into the back of someone who pulled out infront of me, they went into the car infront but fortunately nobody was seriously injured.
Behind me exactly the same happened except 2 of the cars were write offs.....

The police closed the road so it was a fairly major incident and completely shook me up Sad

Hopefully that'll be my crash quota for the forceable future, also I've been reported for driving without due care and attention which Will probably end up with me contesting that in court as Hand on heart I believe the accident wasn't my fault.

Oh well  Undecided

That's not good at all.

If you had the right of way, and they did pull out, then it should be their fault. As per your driving test, you should never make another driver have to act (slow down/change direction) because of your actions. So if they did pull out on you, they should be at fault.

Hope you're alright though.

I've had nearly 11 months of owning a driving license and I'm still going strong  Grin

Many years ago, early one morning I ran into the back of a  truck parked on a blind bend ona main road. The 'owners' of the truck it turned out were in the process of pinching  road signs to sell as scrap metal. The truck sped off after I hit it and another car almost immediately ran into the back of my wrecked car.

I was 19 at the time, the guy who ran into the back of me was in his mid 40's. He did exactly the same as me in that he ran into the back of a stationary vehicle.

The police worked out I was doing 22mph at the time of impact, the guy who ran into me was still doing 32mph, the speed limit on the road was 60 mph.

We were both prosecuted for driving without due care and attention. We were both in court the same day, he went first and was acquitted, I was convicted, go figure, I was 19 he was 40+ I was nearly done for contempt of court for questioning why he got off and I didn't. I am convinced that it was because of my age. Never trusted the police or justice system since.
