I'd like to add some emmisions from airfield power/ch plant chimneys I'm placing around my sceneries.  I've looked for a tutroial but can't find one.  Does someone know if there is such an item I can get or perhaps tell me how to add the smoke/steam...?
Thanks.

Terry, you have a couple of options for FS2004

1-Download the FS2004 Special Effects SDK here: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=10. Once installed, open the 'How to place effects in Flight Simulator 2004.doc'. It will describe how to place an effect using a sample .xml file. Simply modify the coordinates, altitude (in meters-AGL) and effects file name and compile with bglcomp.

2-If you have SBuilder installed you can place an 'effect' in the same manner as you do an object.

Dave

Note: If you use the SDK's .xml method you can enter the coordinates just as you see in the sim (degrees and decimal minutes dd mm.mm) but you may have to increase the precision of the decimal minutes (mm.mmmmmm) to precisely place the effect. The 5th decimal place equals approx. 1 meter

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

You know....you can just rip up a to-do list.

I wrote an Illustrated Tutorial on that very subject (adding smoke effects in FS2004).

Search for smoke_effect.zip - not sure it is in the library here however.

Hope that helps.
