It was bad enough to have an accident.....

.......But you can just bet this guy had to changes his pants!
This takes mere luck into an entirely new classification!

Hi Romulus...
Wow...some accident...
What I am wondering is the guard rail to the right of the large culvert is damaged and that looks to be where the truck went off the road.
Now the position of the truck facing the broken guard rail would mean that the truck would have had to turn 180 degrees in the air to be in that location.
That driver must have had one hell of a view...

Am I the only one who is concerned by how a truck managed to crash through the barrier on the wrong side of the road, bridge a gap, spin 180 degree and not fall off the edge?

The photos do not clearly indicate that the truck came from that direction, or that the damage was caused by the truck. It could very easily have come the other way... there's a sort of dirt ramp there. Any number of other possible causes for the damaged barrier on the other side of the culvert.
But assuming it did come from the other direction, I'd say it's very feasible to wind up facing the other way. The truck is pretty busted up; it may have sort of cartwheeled.
So that's not really so amazing.
WHAT'S AMAZING IS THAT IT DIDN'T GO STRAIGHT DOWN INTO THAT ENORMOUS HOLE!!

The best luck will compensate for the worst skill, but the best skill will not compensate for the worst luck.

All I can say is. If it had been me. I not only would need a change of undies and pants. I'd have been blinded by the shit storm inside the cab as it cartwheeled and came down 12 inches from the edge of oblivion....

If you follow the snopes link below the photos, you will find the entire story along with the location of the accident. The truck did indeed break through the barrier, skirt the huge culvert, then stop on the edge.
