I'm very much missing my flight sims, but the bad preformance I get is really discouraging me, so I have finally gotten around to seriously pursuing a GPU upgrade.
I am thinking about an ATI Radeon HD 5770, but my wimpy 350w Dell PSU in my Studio 540 won't handle it. (no surprise, it's Dell  ) I've heard that Dell PCs are somehow proprietary, or won't allow non-Dell components to be installed; is there any truth to this? If not, I will probably get a Corsair GS600. What kind of performance range will the 5770 along with my quad-core 2.33Ghz Q8200 give me? Last thing, has anybody ever put or heard of someone putting a 5770 in a Studio 540, I am a little concerned about size issues.
