My half-brother Ray, who was already a young man when I was born, has owned something like 70 different cars in his lifetime... he'd buy fixer-uppers, enjoy and work on them for a while, then sell them, often at a profit. Whenever he'd come visit the family homestead, it was always fun seeing what car he'd show up in, and they were usually very cool and different. Also built a couple of kit cars (but no pix of those... yet). I recently borrowed a few photos from his collection to scan... car nuts here might like some of these.
This was his mother's '54 Chevy... pretty sure it became his eventually.
Don't recall the vintage of this Stingray, but I remember it well from my childhood (unless that was a diffrent one, LOL).. Still my favorite type of Corvette.
A TR7...
I like this Ghia with the black trim... he's also had a few Beetles, and even a Thing at one point.
'66 Galaxie... ca. 1978.
Here he is with our old man, looking over Ray's late-70s Beetle, around 1996. Our father was a car salesman for many years (mostly Volvo), but never a "car guy." Maybe the weakness for classic cars comes from some other ancestor.
I wasn't present, but I'd guess he was bad-mouthing the Beetle here.
I almost cried when Ray sold this excellent, very stock '65 Mustang... he's got two PT Cruisers, now, which I don't understand, but hey, it's his money.
If I ever win the lottery, one of the first things I'm going to do is buy him a nice project.
