Been tinkerin' with AI Carriers again....

Responding to capsized vessel call........
...
On scene already are a Navy helo and a Coast Guard cutter.....
...
Two men in the water...appear to be o.k........a third, slumped over the hull don't look so good...
...
Let's get this one outta here....
http://www.simviation.com/phpupload/uploads/1298787993.jpg
The other two get a  ride to the nearest port on the cutter.
...
Thanks 4 looking Smiley

Here are the lines to add to AI Carriers to be able to spawn this group (capsized vessel with circling seagulls, two men in the water, one man on the boat, Coast Guard cutter, and a Navy SH-60 in the air), the beauty of it is that the cutter and helo will move together Cool

All objects are default except the SH-60, which is included with Javier Fernandez' High Detail Carriers: http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=javier+fernandez
It will be in the Sim Objects folder after you DL. It's called SH-60_Plane_Guard. Just put it in your boats folder. If you already have Mr. Fernandez' High Detail Carriers, all you have to do is add the lines Smiley

title=Sea Rescue
unit.0=VEH_water_capsized_sm, 0, 0
unit.1=Kayaker_sm, 10, 0
unit.2=Kayaker_sm, -20, 10
unit.3=Fisherman_sm, -2, 5
unit.4=Veh_USCG_Cutter_Sm, -60, -200
unit.5=SH-60_guard, 15, -15

I had a problem with this group causing a repetative splashing sound, like someone throwing stones in a pond, I don't know if anyone else will have this problem.....I deleted the SplashSM sound file (FSX/Sound) to resolve the issue. I don't know what this sound was for.....I don't miss it though. Wink

Also, any repainters out there....Patchz Wink.....would it be possible to repaint the AI chopper in a Coast Guard livery?

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Very cool Chuck. Smiley

I have been busy with other things and have not done anything with AI Carriers. As to the repaint, I may be able to try in a week or so. You might want to send me a reminder in a pm. I am getting old, you know. Roll Eyes

Looks like you've got this adding ships/objects to ai carriers down Chuck. Thanks for passing along the info to us. Much appreciated. I've compiled some notes from your wonderful posts and this coming week I'll get a chance to do some experimenting.

All the shots are awesome and I especially got a kick out of the poor unfortunate fellow sprawled across the bow of his ship then again in the link!  Cool   Cool   Cool

I just noticed ai carriers included the birds!!  Shocked

FSX, we've come a long way baby! Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-22 Raptor. Its largest current project is the F-35 Lightning II

Looks like  you have Lamont Clark's AI Carriers down pat. I can't get my to work. Nothing happens when I start FSX or when I manually start AI Carriers. I followed the instructions I feel to the letter, but still it doesn't work. Can you help me out? I need this program to work so I can load USS Nimitz/USS Eisenhower to make the bogey/tanker mission work.
Thank you.

During flight when you push "Alt" and your drop down menu appears, Is there an "Addons" option?
AI Carriers should be here, or push "shift+j" to bring up the AI Carrier menu.

If it's not there:

Do you have FSUIPC installed? I'm pretty sure you need it. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=fsuipc
Also, you need Java JRE 1.5 or higher (get free at http://java.sun.com)

If it still doesn't work try posting in the FSX section Smiley
