Cool shots Greg, I like the second one a lot Cool
Wher are you in the first one, please?

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Thank you Chuck, I'm glad you liked them. In the first shot I'm 20 miles south of Marshall Alaska KMLL, somewhere over the vast tundra!  Smiley  Cool

Great shots Greg. Smiley

Reminds me of how I felt when I first got the 185. Little did I know
of the future depth of that love affair.  Wink

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Again awesome shots Greg...well done... Wink

You know I have looked at the last shot several times now trying to figure out why my snow does not look like that...FSX is starting to come along... Smiley

I have flown the Cessna 185 in many configurations and ours right now is on wheel/skis thanks to one of our son's.
Have owned several and they are one of the best Cessna turned out, right up there with the Cessna 337 "Mix Master".  We had several of thoses as well.  You will not lose money on any aircraft by buying and selling but like anything else, insurance, maintenance and operating costs do go up.  Thought I would throw this in, flying around with the taxi and landing lights on when not required by regulations or common sense only adds to the cost...but I see so many folks do that here on the simulator.
The Cessna 185 on CAP Floats was a little faster than the Cessna 185 on EDOs but I preferred working off the EDOs myself.  The EDOs were easier to walk on or pump out in rough water also.

Now the Cessna 180 was another good aircraft and something we don't see much of on FSX.... Smiley

Well there is my two cents worth Greg...again keep up the great work... Wink

I know we'll never hound you to write the "Bugsmasher's guide to bliss" but I'll take your two or two million cents worth anytime Doug. Your experiences fascinate me! Especially the gems of practicality that you impart because you bring an aire of realism along with your vast knowledge to my sim experience and I thank you for it!

Thanks Greg for the kind words...much appreciated... Smiley

There are a few others on the forums here at Simviation that share their knowledge of aviation as well and I sure do love reading their two cents... Wink

I try very hard to impart facts and a little knowledge to the Simviation Forums as I think and hope it brings a little more realism to our hobby.

It is folks like you and many many others here far too many to mention that make Simviation the fabulous site it is.

Simviation Aviators just like their licenced counterparts have a growing desire and hunger for facts, history and knowledge and I am proud and happy to be able to add my small two cents worth amongst the many other folks here who contribute to this forum.

Thanks again for your kind words and the wonderful work you post... Wink
