Hi all,

I'm having some trouble with the mooney due to prop torque effect, if i try the aileron trims they have no effect.

If i use rudder trim to try and offset the torque, only the rudder right trim works, rudder left trim is not working.

In both cases I've tried setting up other keys but with same result, if i setup joystick for same functions, i have same propblem, otherwise joystick is OK.

I'm not familar with the mooney, I'm going through the missions and mooney is used.

Can somebody please check trims for the mooney for me?
I'm using the fsx gold pack and come across this problem on the hawaii mission.
I can live with the torque effect but i don't know if the mooney should respond to the trims, with rudder trim right working, I'd expect it to.

(Now if i loosen the engine and add some shims to left hand side I'd be OK  Smiley    )

regards

Steve

So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley

300 hp in those Bravo's. Light airplane.
I have found that full realism on those factors are not realistic. Mine is dropped down to about 50%.
I used a cfg editor to tweek the Bravo so as to not change realism settings on all planes.
Rudder trim. That is one thing I didn't change, but it's in the cfg file. Also check controller assignments for all controllers you have in regard to rudder trim.
Saitak needs to make a trim wheel Elev/rudder. Bravo is electric. For elevator trim I use the throttle slider on an old joystic. Trimming with a button never worked well for me.

Hi grant06,

Thanks for your reply

I found what the problem was, num lock needs had to be on for the rudder left trim to work.
In the many years of using flight sims, it's the only time I've bothered with rudder trims

Actualy never use it myself (rudder trim). Usualy once I establish my departure, VS, airspeed, heading, I get lazy and hit the autopilot.
I like that Bravo specificly because its a bull in a china shop. It'll suck down 22 gph departing but will fly real nice at 10 gph, 110-15kts or so at cruise.
I figure that a plane's rudder trim should be set for cruise speed if you are going to "set it and forget it".
Sometimes I'll just steer left a little when departing.

I'll have to get back on the Bravo's cfg file to get it more real. As soon as I figured out the cfg thin, I went to the C182RG, I'm more apt to fly a Cesna than a Bravo when it comes to pitch roll and yaw affectiveness.
The stock FSX Bravo, to be clear, is sh*t when it comes to it's flight controlls being real... One thing I did was to lesson the elevator affectiveness, it just doesn't pop it's nose like on the sim. Same with elev. trim, way too affective. Flying a real Cesna is way easyer than flying a stock FSX Bravo. Roll Eyes
...maybe someone who has flown a real Bravo could tweek the cfg file.

my own personal flying has is solo on 4 types of glider and a small amount of 172 flying, 172 in good weather and control wasn't a problem, I was already doing basic aerobatics in gliders before I tried the 172.

I came across the rudder trim problem on the Hawaii mission flight.

What doesn't make sense is why num pad had to be on for the button I had setup on my joystick to work, for the keyboard it does make sense.
