The following is a true story, only the facts have been changed.

A good buddy called me from his village just outside Coventry, UK and expressed his desire to go snowboarding somewhere where there was virgin snow and somewhere on the North American Continent. I could tell the wobbly pop was fueling his bravado, that and his youth.  I suggested he visit and told him I think I knew a place that possibly would meet his criteria

Picked him up from SFO around midnight the following night and hopped on a pre-arranged charter to a little strip located, oh only about 2900 kilometers north of San Francisco located smack dab in the Yukon territory at a place called Fort Good Hope. The journey would be grueling, but we had plenty of time to rest on the plane!

We were surprised that when we got up the next day, especially after all the storms that have passed through lately, there wasn't a cloud in the sky! After a very large breakfast, we stored needed gear in a rented Maule and headed southwest about 252 kilometers...

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

One request though, don't make it a snowboarding theme, I'm too old and too fat for those things.

Christian did not help with his "well how about skiing then?"

Beautiful shots though Greg. Smiley

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thank you for looking and the compliments Doug. I would be preaching to the choir I'm sure if I said activity is a major key to longevity. My best to you and the Mrs. Happy flying, Greg  Cool

Thanks Deano. Glad your back and you didn't break anything.
I've never tried snowboards and I've really slowed down but in my youth I was an avid skier.
I live a couple of hours from the best slopes on the world...
Heavenly Valley, Bear Valley, Kirkwood, Squaw Valley just to name a few. Haven't done any heli skiing .........yet! Undecided
