There are no inherent problems with FS9 and Vista, though you may encounter file access trouble if the sim is installed in C:\Program Files

Does your problem occur with any aircraft having ILS capability?  Does the ILS data appear on the map?

Embarrassed hello..good afternoon.. if you open the pre program files fs 2004 and take any craft, jet ot prop,  to land ils in chicago, any weather condition, there is no problem.
but if you go say from dade to miami intl 4000ft agl to 9l there is nothing. same for london to paris and other sites. in the gps you have all the data, select ils, active vectors to final and activate app, center line and all what you need but..in the plane, 737, is ap is on and i have the app on but the instruments do not show ils or glide slop. nether the markers (3), tower gives the instructions to land but i have to land via heading on, alt is lowerd by every 500 to 800 ft manualy, and trust is on 160. if you shut of heading, alt, ias, the craft goes up violently and if your almost there its a crash due to stal. to nite all chech for vors and other instruments that sould work, soory abaut the writing. i need practice many thank for the help.

I'm not sure what was said above, but you have to tune in the ILS frequency manually when you are *not* using a default flight that has already tuned it for you.

From your descriptions I doubt that Vista or your FS9 installation are the problem. It sounds like
you're simply missing steps needed to complete the ILS landing.

For the localizer and glide slope to show on the VOR1 indicator, and for APP mode to work, you must have Nav1 tuned to the ILS frequency and the NAV/GPS switch switched to NAV.

A GPS PROC approach, in your example 'Vectors to Final', will not fly you down to the runway. It only flies an approach route that will line you up on final. It does not control altitude and the ap APP mode does nothing in GPS mode. In fact, if you leave the autopilot in GPS mode you would fly over the runway and the GPS would fly a 'missed approach'.

Once you are on final approach heading and at the proper approach altitude (below the glide path) you must switch the NAV/GPS mode switch to NAV. You should be within  20nm or so before making the switch. Also, before switching, verify the Nav1 radio is receiving the ILS signals by turning on Nav1 on the audio panel and listening for the morse code signal.

If everything is in order when you switch NAV/GPS to NAV, the localizer and glide path deviation indicators on VOR1 indicator will become active and you can turn on the ap APP mode.

The ap should then lock onto the 'beams' and fly you down to the runway.
