Typically it is here:

Computer\C:\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9

Note that the  AppData folder and the cfg file itself are "hidden" by default so you need to be sure you have the search engine set to search hidden files and folders.

And rather than tracking it down each time, I use "FS9Configurator", a small editor designed solely for the FS9 cfg file.  Install it anywhere and point it to the cfg file, then when you click it there's the file ready for editing.  Just be sure to backup the file first, the editor has no "save" - once you make a change, it's done.

I prefer to make a shortcut to my cfg files on my desktop. Either way makes it easier to access them.

I also remove the hidden attribute (a properties option).

Being insufferably lazy, one thing I like about this editor is it displays all the bracket headings ([terrain], [display], etc.) in the left pane, click on one of these and the contents of that section are displayed in the right pane;  click on a line there and you get a popup window where you edit that line.  So no more scrolling up and down the cfg file in notepad seeking a particular section.

I agree about the hidden attribute;  it's hard enough to locate some files, without the blasted OS hiding them from you.
