The 8-part Alaska airport scenery can be found right here at SimV.
Starts here:
http://simviation.com/1/browse-Scenery-63-15
Contnues here:
http://simviation.com/1/browse-Scenery-63-14
Although a time consuming install, looks awesome! There's a lot of cool stuff at a lot of the airports. Unalakleet has a lot more that can't fit in the pic.
The DC-3 is default FSX.

Cool shot. Thanks for the heads up on the Alaska airport, been looking for more AK scenery.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I like the color coordination of the Cubs in the background and the DC-3 in the foreground.

Nice shot and good plane. Gonna look into the scenery myself. Shavron Air flys all over Alaska. I'm sure its one of our stops.

I highly recomend the all 8 parts. The pain in the tailfin part is that each folder (airport) has to be extracted and C&P'd into the add-on scenery folder, THEN, ya gotta do the 'add area' thingie.
But it does end up being very worthwhile!
The airport choice was easy, it was the aircraft choice part that I mulled over with a dozen or so screenies. First was Tweto's 182 (very cool freeware here at SimV), then it was the Henderson/Alrot 310 (another awesome craft, also here at the V), but I settled on the DC-3 cause I've been "touring" a lot of the Alaska stops in it.
Thanx y'all for the nice C&C!

Think twice Larry.
Corrupt Scenery File. I downloaded this file three times and when I unzipped it I get a corrupt file warning. Can someone check this file out and repair it?
! K:\Alaskan Airports\JT_AlaskaAP_Pk3-1.zip: CRC failed in JT_AlaskaAP_Pk3\CLF\Texture\window.bmp. The file is corrupt

FSX Scenery page 16 "Alaskan Airports Package Part 3 of 8"
http://simviation.com/1/browse-Scenery-63-15
The other seven files of the eight part scenery package seem to be OK but, I'm still a little hesitant to install it to my flight-sim because of the install procedure in the read-me. There are 80 airports and it says to add each one to the library one at a time. Thats one long list. I would think they should be combined so there would be one entry and called "Alaskan Airports" or such.

I replied to your 'Corrupt File' thread Bob, I have it working fine as far as I can tell.

It's the little details that capture my attention in this shot. The sun reflecting off the back windows of the yellow plane mover thingys for example...awesome shot!
FSX, we've come a long way baby! Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-22 Raptor. Its largest current project is the F-35 Lightning II

I reckon the caveat "....your results may vary...." would be fitting here. I had absolutely zero issue with any of the multi-part package.
Like I alluded to earlier, the 'silly' part is having to do the "Add Area" thing to each and every folder. There looks to be 80 or so, but my wife was watching a chick flick on the other side of the den at the time, so taking the hour+ to get through them all was a nice distraction.
Just yesterday I visited the Anchorage aerodromes for the first time. The scenery/facilities at those is well worth the time and effort it took to install all of the Alaska package.
I am probably the most impressed with all of them, moreso than I've been with any other airport add-ons that I've previously installed.
Let me just put it this way: If you've obtained the Miami Intl, Reagan at D.C, Edwards, and Kennedy, LaGuardia, etc., then you'll love just the Anchorage area stuff.
But that's just my humble opinion.
Thanx for the nice kudo Pepe! Try the Alaska thing.......methinks you like!
