I kept going back to Bobs' post about the sale on this plane....then I'd go to the website and look at it.....finally, I broke down
There's still time.....
http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1295910214
I must say....thanks Bob, this is an awesome aircraft
Lots of models lots of paint schemes.......here's a couple I like
This thing looks at home anywhere
I bought this plane, in part, because of how much they talked up it's bush flying capabilities.........I can't think of a better place to test out it's STOL ability than here. Most of you know about this scenery but, for those who don't:

This scenery is a must have for bush flying enthusiasts
I came in very close to stall speed because history has taught me that runway is fleetingly precious here.
It turns out that reverse prop pitch makes a lot of difference though and, I was a little surprised when I came to an easy comfortable stop.......well short of getting the front tire wet in the water hazard at the end of the runway
After unloading all the cargo....mostly wobblypop and band aids, along with most of my fuel (they said they needed it for their snowmobile?......I'll bet it goes fast), I cut it very close anyway. She did it though. In my opinion.....12.47 well spent
Thanks 4 looking
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Nice flight there! Looks like the Kodiak does have some great short field capabilities... I wonder if it can match the Otter though? (right Doug?
)
Looks like you really yanked it off the ground in the last shot!

This is out of the manual.....
You ʻcanʼ achieve a semi-radical climb rate with the unique design of the
Kodiak wings and their lift properties. Just do not let you air speed fall
under stall condition.
I'm not sure where the line between semi-radical and radical is though

Nice shots Chuck.
Glad to see you enjoying the Kodiak. Reminds me I need to do some repaints for it. All I have done is a palette shift changing the red to silver.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

The detail in the airplane is incredible
and shots 4 and 5 knock my socks off
FSX, we've come a long way baby! Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-22 Raptor. Its largest current project is the F-35 Lightning II
