Spent a lot of enjoyable hours with FS95. Bought FS98 soon after it came out. A problem with field elevations at KMRY and KSNS that I could never figure out. Those are my home fields and the aircraft descends thru field elevation down to sea level. Never found another field with that problem. I ran FS98 as is, no changes or addons. Is there a way to fix this? Is there a patch I don't know about that will fix this problem?

Have any of you experienced this? At airports other than KMRY or KSNS?

If those 2 fields are OK in your copy of FS98 please let me know what patches and addons you're using! TIA!

I will try to check this although things are rather hectic for me right now; also using library computer for internet.

There is sometimes a similar problem in CFS if a runway is across varying elevations (but that usually only affects landing ai aircraft). It's rather strange seeing an aircraft taxiing to a stop ten feet above the ground because the runway was placed ten feet below above that ground elevation (the other end of the runway is on the ground).

Cool

It's a very long time since I last fired up FS98. I just tried the airports you mention & they seem to work fine for me. You might like to try the official Patch posted here. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=fs98pat1.exe&categoryId=&filena...

If you haven't done so install the FS98 Converter while you're about it. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=fsconv98.exe&categoryId=&filena...

Thanks for the quick responses.

Hagar, the version number of my FS98 exe is 6.10.0.419. Is this the same as your copy? Do you remember if you're using add on scenery?

Thanks again!

The version number of mine is 6.10.0.418. I have no addons installed. To be honest I don't remember if I installed the Patch.

I cannot access those airfield IDs; they're not in the list. After the initial FS98 attempt, I then uninstalled FS98, installed FS95 (tried it), then upgraded FS95 with the FS98 disk; still no show. What/where are these airfields (name and geographical location)?

P.S. Didn't know what you meant 'til I rechecked what I'd typed: correcting to 'above'. Sorry.

Refered to as MRY and SNS (no "K") in the roster and Airfield Reference.
Like Hagar's, my default Cessna and an imported F7F Tigercat aircraft kept their wheels on the runways.
