Goodly morning all... Smiley

To start off with I was going to post this in the FSX Forum and then I looked at several other forums and decided...no...would post it here... Undecided

Last night I decided to reinstall FSX.

I followed all of "Nicks" procedures as they work well for me and I do use his FSX settings as well.

I only found one (1) problem.

It is in my Douglas DC3 FSX Folder.

I had the download "Awesome 4 Some" installed and I wanted everything back to the basic FSX.

When I opened the Douglas DC3 FSX Folder the Awesome 4 Some was still showing in the folder.

The Awesome 4 Some aircraft do not show in the FSX program in the aircraft selection section.

Now everything else was deleted just the way I wanted it to be but this.

Wondering what happened?

The FSX simulator program does work fine just that I am curious why the Awesome 4 Some was not deleted from the FSX Douglas DC3 Folder as this was another install.

Any comments would be most appreciated... Wink

If I understand your question correctly, you Uninstalled, and then Re Installed, and you assumed that everything from the previous installation should have been deleted?

Uninstalling FSX will only delete things that come with the Stock FSX, because the Uninstaller only knows about things that come with the FSX default installation and nothing about things you may have added at a later time.  Anything additional will remain there and must either be uninstalled with its own uninstaller or otherwise deleted by hand.  Every time I have uninstalled things, there are always remnants of the previous left behind, and I have to drag things to the recycle bin before doing the reinstall.  This is pretty common.

Apologies if I am misunderstanding your question.

As one who has fubar'd FSX many times, I can attest to what Snippy stated.

I learned the hard way over more that a few hours, and attempts, at undoing and redoing FSX/Accel that you hafta meticulously seek out anything related to FSX when going for a total deletion.

You can bet your last nickel that FSX will find anything you missed!!! Cry  And what ya missed will most likely be the bane of your current existence! Angry

Just for that sorta thing I have a complete copy of FSX on an extenal 1TB HD.

Sooooooooo, now when the "Fatal Error" box sticks it's tongue out at me, I simply click on the details and see what the malady is..........then cut out the problem 'child' and replace with the backup off of the HD.
