Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot Saturday. While some initial reports said Giffords had died, the local sheriff, Clarence Dupnick and University Medical Center spokeswoman Darci Slaten say she is alive and in surgery. She was hosting a public event at a Safeway grocery store on the north side of Tucson
There were nine people shot by a lone gunman.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

These things are a shame,I hope she comes out of it allright.
Reading the comments, we can see all the keyboard cops coming out of the woodwork. (Blaming this on everything but a gunman.)
Flying with twins is a lot of fun..

Yeah, I posted this because it is news of importance. Then I thought about political and/or gun comments/arguments and thought about deleting it. Maybe everyone will behave, especially since it is so tragic.

Just some crazy nut looking for his fifteen minutes. Too bad an armed citizen didn't put a quick end to this loser. Concealed carry can also be used to protect others in your vicinity, as well as yourself...

She was incredibly lucky to not be hit in a critical area of the brain and suffer immediate death. The thing that I find most amazing is that she remained alert throughout the process:

This man is also a real hero. To keep a level head in a situation like that should really be commened.

Probably an anti-government nutcase thinking he's protecting liberty and justice when he's doing just the opposite
. The ability to participate in democracy by publicly serving, voting, or speaking our minds without reasonable threat of being shot (stabbed or attacked otherwise) is a large part of what makes a democracy work.
I have no pity for people who make or carry out threats to the government rather than grow a pair and speak their minds in a calm, cogent, and assertive way. Seriously people, this isn't Pakistan.

Another article you may find interesting.

A lot of it seemed fairly obvious to me, but some of the information is very interesting.
