Ever seen the movie 'The Core'? Hope it is not the same cause. But the last thing I read about it said the birds had blunt trauma, which suggests hail. Don't know about the fish, but the article said it was common.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I heard a vetranarian interviewed say of the 17 birds he examined, "all showed signs of internal bleeding."
Now if your following my thoughts..
, this usually happens when one "drops out of the sky".
Flying with twins is a lot of fun..
