I Like Flight Simulation!

A few days ago, I installed the Abacus F-14D for FS2004 (for God only knows what reason - the IRIS F-14A/B is amazing)

Before I started flight sim to test it out, I was instant messaging someone on Facebook (using the browser Google Chrome), and AVG Free did a restart (I accidentally hit "restart now" instead of "Postpone")

And the next time I started flight sim, not only was the game slow, but the entire program was running slow even in the create a flight, settings, and all those other tabs and options.

I uninstalled the F-14, but I'm still having no luck.  I've restarted my computer multiple times, and its doing the same thing.

Does anyone have any ideas?  I cannot fly at 14-15 FPS

I'm running an Intel Pentium D processor, an Nvidia GeForce 8600 graphics card, I have 4gb of DDR2 667 RAM, a 600 (or more - I forgot) Watt PSU, and a hard drive with ample space.

I am not having problems with ANY other programs on this computer.

Thanks

what other programs are running the in the background? Sounds like your Task Manager needs to be cleaned out.  If you are running anything more than 25 tasks besides FS9... you have too much junk running.

if you hit CRTL+ALT+DEL how many tasks are running in task manager?
