Time to post what goodies you got...
I've had to treat myself to a massive new monitor for my new PC and a GTX 580 video card to go with it as the PC is coming with a Raedon
DVDs and books aplenty and some bits for the mighty Kwaka (of course) along with the usual array of chocolates and the like!
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

A couple of sweaters
A bottle of Canadian maple syrup. (The bottle is cut glass so it almost looks like it belongs in the whiskey cabinet....I took a swig from it in front of my aunt and she confiscated it until my parents explained what's actually in the bottle)
Assorted chocolates and candies
Breath mints (hmmm...maybe my sister is trying to tell me something...)
Socks
and a nice pair of Sennheiser headphones
The busier my life get, the more I realize that Christmas is really more about spending time with friends and family and less about presents and gifts.
MY SPECS= 5' 11" Slightly less than healthy male, 160 lbs., Brown eyes........Oh...you were wondering about my
computers
specs.....

I received a gift card, zippo lighter and surprisingly a very nice shotgun. I mentioned offhand to my dad a few months ago that I would like to try trap shooting and what do you know, he hands me a shotgun this Christmas.
This was surprising because we don't usually do big expensive gifts, the idea being that it's the thought that counts not how much you spend.
P.S. no anti gun debates please, trap shooting is a sport.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I got some Jack Daniels Whiskey Praline Pecans, yum yum; a very nice Street Rod calendar, some cash, a cool Primos cap with the Browning logo, and the host of on sale airplanes I bought myself, plus the TrackIR. It will
take me a while to really learn the F-14, F-20, A-10, Vulcan and C-130, but I do pretty well with the rest. The least desirable of the bunch is the Twin Star and it is ok. I think the one that is the most fun is the SA-2 Samson.
The main thing, is I got to spend time with my Mom, Aunt, Son, Daughter-in-law, Daughter and grandsons, not to mention a lot of good food.

Doh! how could I forget that? it's a Mossberg 500A with wood stocks and 28 inch ported barrel. It also has interchangeable choke tubes. The neat thing is that there are a lot of accessories out there for this gun so if I ever wanted to change it, it would be easy to do. But I like it the way it is.

NICE! I finally got what I wanted for awhile, a clay pigeon thrower I can launch with my foot, now I can go out and shoot by myself. Don't need to wait on anybody to go out with me! also more beer for me!
(when I get home of course)

Back when, I had a Mossberg 500 with a pistol grip and a 15" barrel - think it was legal. That was my airplane emergency weapon with a gunny sack full of shells.

Uh, that would be a no. Federal regs limit it to 18" barrel, 26" overall, though I doubt you would have much of a problem with it in Alaska, at least back then. I don't know about now. The main thing is, it was for defense, mostly against dangerous animals while you were in a hostile environment. I expect they were pretty understanding. Now in an urban area in the lower 48, you would not be so lucky.

Nice. Mossberg has come a long way. They are much better quality than they were thirty years ago, and even then, some were pretty nice. Ported and interchangeable tubes makes it the best of all worlds. Enjoy it.
My personal favorite is, and has always been, a Remington model 870 because I am more familiar with them than any other. I've had three over the years and want another one. The best one was, and what I want now,
a standard 870, full stock, with a 28" barrel with interchangeable tubes and an extra 20" open cylinder barrel, with rifle sights. It is amazing how well that barrel shoot slugs. With the two barrels and tubes for the 28", I
could use it for any purpose I had an interest in.

I think the key characteristic of a good Christmas present is that it's constantly useful. I have chocolate, films and new camera equipment, but they either run out or become boring.
So my favourite Christmas present was something ever so small, yet hugely useful. A lovely new belt reel so I can hold my till card for when at work. No more dropping or losing my card, and it's useful for several days of the week. Not bad for £2.

A friend of mine personally baked me a nice, juicy, huge ham that I shared with 2 friends. A client gave me $150. One boss gave me $100. Another boss gave me a 'thank you'.
Not sure what to do with the 'thank you'.
