Have you tried renaming your FS9.cfg file (to disable it) which forces FS to create fresh new one when you start it up again?

Strange as it may seem, doing so will often fix problems which have eluded us otherwise.  No guarantees though.  Wink

Hi Opa, didn't know you were in the Forum, glad to see it.  Now, what should I change the Fs.cfg to? (that is if I can find it).  I won't lose any of my aircraft will I? Huh

If you allow FS to create a new one, it will do so with all of the original default settings including what it believes to be the best graphic settings.  If you made any special "tweaks" they can be copied from the disabled one and pasted into the new one.

Just rename it something like FS9.cfg.original

You will not loose any aircraft or scenery etc. which you may have installed but may have to reset some graphic settings and some key combo assignments if you added any to the default list.

The FS9.cfg file is a hidden file so be sure to search with the "show hidden file and folders" option invoked.  It is NOT in your FS2004 folder.

Hope that helps.
