Do you have EZdok by any chance?
If not try flying a default aircraft in the air then switch to F/A-18 in flight and see what happens.

ummm.... not sure what that is.?
i have a possable solution from someone who has the superbug hornet and had the same problem.
it seem like a cool payware since you can create different under the wing load outs for a bunch of cool liveries.

Try contacting the makers of the aircraft. THey made it, so they can probably give you the best advice on ways to fix your problem.

I had to read the manual!
Then I somehow figured out how to do an autostart (shift + E) but I forgot what I did.
Let me give it a go and I may figure out what I did.
BUT! If ya read the manual, startup is not all that too difficult........if I can figure it, anyone can!

if you cant get any of the control surfaces to move, id say it sounds like a control stick issue rather than the aircraft itself.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Ive noticed that the Superbug does this to me (everything seems to work except for the control surfaces and there are irregular cautions on the displays) after flying the CH-53 from Nemeth (it starts cold and dark by default).
Try making your default flight the Cessna 172 w/engines running. Then restart FSX.
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

You have described
exactly
what happens to me. Try my fix, it worked for me (I have to restart FSX after I fly the CH-53 before the Superbug's control surfaces will operate).
In the preferences section of the ACM that came with the Superbug, it says "If this is your first flight in the Superbug, please load the default Cessna 172, quit FSX, then run the Superbug. Quit once more and run the ACM."
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. by restart do you mean close out completely or just start another flight with the superbug?

Easy one! Happened to me too! BUT!!! I found that once you get rolling above 50, controls repond as normal.
Hope this helps!

Close FSX completely

If it works, you will still get a 'rig" caution light. This just wants you to move the flight controls around to make sure they're operational. After you do this, the "rig" caution will go off. Now, arm your ejection seat, check trim, and you're ready to get in the air

O.K., after some reading and experimentation......try pushing Ctrl+Shift+F, this should reset the flight control system. After this I still have a "gen tie" caution. I don't know what this is but, further reading will eventually reveal the solution I think

thanks for the help with the general movement thing. the start up and restart worked.
but now it will only get like 20 or 30 yards off the ground and just start floating down like there is no power or anything eventhough i have the engines on full and its not at a steap enough angle to stall.

Are there audible tones or cuation lights that come on when you add power?

Half flaps, full power, pull back gently at around 145 kts. She should fly.
I don't know if anyone asked this yet but, do you have Acceleration installed?

Install Acceleration. I went to the website and checked. They say Acceleration is required.
I think that will solve all of your problems
Btw, there is a printable "key functions" map in the ACM. It tells you what all of the custom button assignments are and how to activate the Key Command Mode.

From what I understand, that is correct. Acceleration installs Sp1 and Sp2 automatically
Check this out:
http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1197380641
Try un-installing Sp2 and then installing Acceleration.

Glad to hear that it works
It's a great aircraft. Now that you've got it working properly, you can start to figure out the many many systems and features

There's a printable key command guide in the Superbug ACM that will tell you what buttons do what.
By default, whatever buttons you have assigned to incrementally open and close the cowl flaps are the buttons assigned to the weapons triggers. Open cowl flaps is the guns trigger and close cowl flaps is the missiles trigger. Make sure the master arm is turned on and select either AA or AG. You can cycle weapons with the "W" key or by using the multi function display in the cockpit. Choose a missile and push the close cowl flaps button
Try shooting at AI aircraft

Go read Page 65 Section 2.10.2 through Page 72 of the manual. You have to arm the system and set the system up for air to air. On the bottom of page 71 when you get to "Trigger1: Fire" if nothing happens try "Ctrl+Shift+C". On my joystick the trigger only fires the gun and I have to use "Ctrl+Shift+C" to fire missles and/or drop bombs.
You really need to go completely through the tutorial in the manual. It will tell you how to do most things.
