so, i got a new computer (at last) and it's loaded with flight sim goodies.

this is from my maiden flight in the  catalina. it's horrid to fly, all slow and cumbersome, but it's a stunning bird. screenshot use only for this one i think.

Think of the length of cables from  control inputs to the elevators and ailerons - around, over and under a bunch of pulleys, most needing a little more lube.  Reluctant springs, here and there.  All this set in motion with muscle alone - and don't forget the tightening turnbuckles  Smiley.
