This should perhaps be under sport but I just wanted to note that the original Dallas Cowboys quarterback and one of the nicest guys ever, has passed. 'Dandy' Don Meredith died of a brain hemorrhage - he was 72.

I know I'm a bit late in responding, but this was a surprise to me....sad day for the Monday Night crew and everyone else he was involved with in his football career .... Sad

I'd almost given up on anyone remembering him. His give and take with Howard Cosell was hilarious and the occasional restrained remark about 'playing for coach Landry' was always a highlight. The novel 'North Dallas Forty', by the former Dallas end Peter Gent, is a real insight into the Cowboys during the Meredith/Landry era.
